User Centered Design

Designing with the end user’s needs and behaviors in mind versus forcing the end user to change his/her behaviors to utilize a product can have a positive impact on the learning experience.  Prior to utilizing User Center Design (UCD) methodology, I had my doubts about the practicality of utilizing this process. However, after utilizing UCD to revamp an existing Blackboard course that was requiring a disproportionately large amount of user-support, I have seen the impact this method has on learning and the end user experience in the course. Click on the links below to explore the different stages of applying this design.

Stage One: Course Evaluation
