My Journey

I have wanted to be a teacher as far back as I can remember.  When I was a child, I would persuade my brothers to be students in my classroom, and they would sit at makeshift desks while I went over the days lessons. As I grew older, my desire to educate shifted. I no longer want to mold the young minds of the future; I had a strong desire to impact the minds of today.

My last 7 years of educating adults in a corporate sector has been engaging, enlightening, and rewarding. This experience has been compounded by the achievement of my Master’s of Education in Instructional Design. I have incorporated the theory and methods that I learned in the classroom into my current projects to improve the quality of the learning programs. My understanding of education, technology and design has evolved and I am able to combine these elements to deliver the best learning experience. Within my department, I have worked one-on-one with different team member to increase the use of industry best practices, design principles, technology use and curriculum development with the end user in mind at all stages. This mentality and the necessary skills to implement it has lead to more effective and engaging training which attains goals, without sacrificing a positive learning experience.
